Child and Adolescent Therapy
Children and adolescents can be impacted by difficult life circumstances, confusing emotions and academic or social struggles. Young people often express their difficulties through behaviors. Some behaviors they may exhibit include biting or hitting, skipping school, fighting with friends, refusing to do homework, lying or withdrawing. The goals of therapy with a child or adolescent is to help them develop or enhance healthy means of coping with distressing emotions or situations; to understand themselves better; and to discover happier ways of living. Throughout a child or adolescent's time in therapy, meetings with parents or guardians are helpful for a positive therapeutic outcome.
